Veel mensen, vaak volslagen onbekenden, hebben op de een of andere manier een bijdrage geleverd aan mijn zandcollectie:
door ruilen, door het geven van informatie, of door aan mij te denken tijdens hun vakantie in verre of dichterbij
gelegen oorden. Deze mensen ontdekten vaak zelf de schoonheid van zand terwijl ze voor mij aan het zoeken waren,
waarbij ze moeilijk begaanbare plekken en kapotte zakjes in hun bagage voor lief namen. Het is vooral vanwege hun
attentheid dat ik mijn collectie heb kunnen uitbreiden, en met andere verzamelaars heb kunnen delen.
Al deze aardige mensen wil ik nog eens heel hartelijk bedanken voor hun bijdragen, door hun namen hier te noemen.
Sommige gevers zijn anoniem gebleven, maar mijn waardering geldt natuurlijk ook hen, en ook diegenen die ik mogelijk ben vergeten.
Many people contributed to my collection, and I want to thank them here,
by displaying their names.
In the first place I thank my fellow
collectors from Holland and foreign countries, who were and are my
trading buddies and whom I often feel as my friends, although in most cases
we will never meet in person.
But where would I be without those often complete strangers, who did
contribute to my sand collection in some way: by providing me with information,
and by thinking of me in some near or far away place during their holidays.
Some keep sending me sand over the years, although I'm a complete stranger
to them. While searching for my benefit, these people often discovered the
beauty of sand for themselves, and took for granted not-so-easy-to-reach finding spots
and sometimes broken baggies in their luggage.
It is mainly because of their thoughtfulness that I have been able to enlarge my collection
and share the beauty of sand with others.
To all those nice people I want to
say THANK YOU very much for your generosity.If I have forgotten to
mention someone I am sorry, but my gratitude reaches out to all of you. The
nicest thing about sand collecting is definitely the human side of it!
